Fodor's |

Fodors_Bermuda_MockUp"Just a two-hour flight from most East Coast U.S. cities, Bermuda is one quick getaway that feels worlds away. Tranquil and prosperous, this island nation of pastel houses and manicured gardens also displays a deep British heritage with crisp colonial architecture. A comfortable climate provides year-round opportunities for outdoor rec-reation on pink-sand beaches, at championship golf courses, and in cerulean waters. Add excellent, varied shopping and dining, and it’s easy to see why this small-in-size country looms large on many itineraries." - Fodor's Travel, Bermuda

With so many outdoor dining options, there's plenty for those with four legs. There's one that's new to the island that we love as well, The Botanist in the Botanical Gardens.

Check out all the Fodor's Restaurants and see if they're on Peru's List to know if they're dog friendly.

Getting Around

Whether it's by car, taxi, or ferry Bermuda has lots of options for pet parents. Here's a few things to know about getting around with four legs:

  • Pets are not permitted on buses
  • Pets are permitted on the top deck of ferries. You can use the Shoreline App to purchase ferry tokens, day passes, or booklets of passes. The ferry schedule changes from winter to summer.
  • Pets are permitted in taxis if the taxi driver permits it. If you have a wet dog, you're less likely to have a willing taxi driver so be sure your pet is clean and/or in a carrier to transport them easily. Taxis can be hailed using the Hitch App, calling them directly, or hailing them from dispatch points in Hamilton. Always confirm a taxi driver will take you and your pet in advance, and have cash on you in case they do not accept cards (many only accept cash).
  • You can live out your biggest pet travel dreams on a cat-amaran! There are pet friendly boat cruises available for hire with Island Time.
  • Don't take your pet on a scooter, it's not a safe way to let the fur flap in the breeze. You can though hire one of the electric vehicles available from Current Vehicles or Rugged Rentals and have your furry companion in the seat next to you.
