Pet Food Travel Requirements
PadsPass doesn't cover pet food rules — here's how to check before you travel
Does the PadsPass app help me determine if my pet’s food is allowed while traveling?
Not currently. PadsPass Trip Requirements focuses on pet travel documentation and entry requirements, and it does not include pet food import rules.
Many countries (and some airlines/transport providers) restrict or prohibit bringing in certain pet foods—especially products containing meat, dairy, or other animal by-products. Rules can vary by destination, routing, and how the food is packaged, and they may change.
Before you pack pet food, confirm the current rules with:
- the destination country’s official agriculture/customs authority, and
- your airline or transport provider (if applicable).
VIPP members: We can help you find and review official sources for your destination’s pet food rules and help you understand what documentation or packaging details may be required. PadsPass does not provide veterinary or dietary advice—if you need guidance on your pet’s nutrition or substitutions, consult your licensed veterinarian.
