Why you might see VMD instead of DVM on your pet's documents
VMD stands for Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris.
It’s a veterinary medical degree designation that is equivalent in practice to DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine). You may see “VMD” listed after a veterinarian’s name on health documents or travel certificates.
In PadsPass, it’s normal to see VMD used in place of DVM—both indicate a licensed veterinarian’s professional degree.
